Lately in Russia it is much spoken about modernization of production, increase of product competitiveness and shifting from raw materials orientation in exports.

According to the experts the main vector in modern developments involves reduction of dependence of the national economy from imports without losing any quality.

Nowadays oil and gas industry of Russia is one of the major sources of the State revenue, it is also the most active user of various innovative products and technical means. Unfortunately, right now Russia exports the significant share of the advanced technical solutions and products. In this way fuel and energy industry of Russia strongly depends on foreign suppliers of the equipment which invariably comprises detachable joints and, respectively, sealing products.

In this article we are going to deal with the issue of import substitution in the narrow, however, meaningful area, particularly, production of soft seals for detachable joints.
