CARBON PACKING​

Carbon packing is made from two types of materials: heat-treated low-temperature carbon fiber (NU-10_), and carbonized high-temperature carbon fiber (NU-20_). The packing may be additionally impregnated with compositions improving its performance.

NU-101 packing is made from filament carbon fiber with a purity of > 90% (PAN precursor), impregnated with PTFE suspension. NU-101 packing is very strong and wear-resistant, has excellent chemical resistance and prevents contamination of the operating environment. This type of packing is very popular in the pulp-and-paper industry where it is used for sealing glands of equipment operating with strong alkali, acids, bleaching agents, liquid solutions, and also of equipment where contamination of operating environment is not allowed. As a rule, the packing is used in valves and pumps, agitators, reactors and autoclaves.

NU-102 packing is made from high-quality (purity > 90%) filament carbon fiber derived from polyacrylonitrile precursor. Prior to weaving, single filaments are impregnated with graphite suspension

NU-202 packing is made by diagonal weaving, of low-modulus carbon filament based on viscose and additionally saturated with graphite suspension. It is used only as a closing seal element of gland-packing chamber. The NU-202 packing is suitable for using in atomic industry due to its high purity – carbon content 99.9%, and high resistance to electromagnetic and nuclear radiation. NU-202 packing has high chemical resistance to acids, alkali, solvents even at high temperatures.
